Evolution Karting Scores 3 Wins at IKS Seymour

Last week it was tornados - this week floods affected the karting event attended by the Evolution Karting race team. Torrential rains Saturday created massive flooding throughout south central Indiana, including the city of Seymour, Indiana, location of the Lucas Oil Indy Karting Series event. Fortunately, the race site on the east side of the city and was unaffected by the flooding on the west side.

On the track, Evolution Karting had a very successful weekend, scoring 3 wins, plus 2-second place and one-third place finish with its five drivers. Cole Mathewson was a double winner, taking first place in both TAG Light and TAG Heavy. In TAG Heavy, Cole lapped everyone except second place on the tight parking lot course.

Jason Lee scored his third win in three races in the Shifter class. Teammate Kurt Mathewson also on a CRG chassis, finished a close second to Lee, and had the races fastest lap, moving up to second from his 5th place starting spot. Lee leads the points in the IKS Shifter class.

AJ Codalata put his Top-Kart chassis on the pole for Yamaha Can Medium and fought a tough battle that went back and forth the entire race but AJ ended up second at the checkered flag. Teammate Kyle Landon took the third spot on the podium.
Evolution Karting is a full service kart shop and race team selling CRG and Top-Kart chassis, parts and accessories. The team also has karts available for rent and “Arrive and Drive” programs at selected local, regional and national karting events for any age drivers from Cadet through Masters.
